Ogam Ram, son of late Shri Bhagwan Dass, was a dedicated and hardworking member of the Indian paramilitary force, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Born on October 11, 1948, in the village of Bail in the district of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, Ogam Ram joined the 6th Battalion of ITBP on August 21, 1967, after completing his SSB training at Sarahan.
During his time in the 6th Battalion, Ogam Ram worked as a CT/GD at various check posts. He showed a keen interest in his work and underwent various professional courses and intensive training programs. His dedication and hard work were recognized when he was promoted to the rank of Inspector/GD in July 1988 in the 7th Battalion of ITBP.
During his posting in the 7th Battalion, Ogam Ram demonstrated outstanding work. He prepared a new sand model in the unit, which was appreciated by senior officers, including Army officers. He was also the post commander of the Shipkila post, which is one of the hard and sensitive posts of HP Sector during May, June, July, and Aug 1990. With his initiatives, he gave good shape to the existing defense, which earned him recognition and praise.
Based on his exceptional performance, Ogam Ram was posted to the ITB Police Academy in August 1991. During his time at the academy, he showed keen interest in all the activities of the institution and made significant contributions, bringing fame and glory to the name of the ITBP. He became a source of inspiration to his juniors and an example to his colleagues.
